"...but of Love, of Joy and of a Sound Mind."

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude 24-25

Another "WOAH" experience!

One of the primary doctrines of pentacostelism is that speaking in "tongues" is the initial evidence of the Baptism of the Spirit. I always have a problem with this statement because many who speak in tongues don't seemed to really live in the Spirit. Although Acts holds many account that support this belief, I came across a statement that I could agree with concerning evidence of the Baptism of the Spirit: "(they) received an insatiable (unsatisfied) hunger for the Scriptures after receiving their Baptism in the Spirit." This hunger will lead to a believer's desire to study the Word properly and to obey them.

WOAH!!

Speaking in tongues is not the primary evidence of the baptism of the holy spirit.

The primary evidences are

a) Changed Lives - Peter was transformed from a coward to a bold speaker, stood out in front of the public and declare the Good News, and stand before the authority to testify.

b) Renewed revelation of the Scriptures. Scriptures are given, as one of the functions of the holy spirit is to illuminate, teach and instruct the Word of God and make it REAL in our lives. That's the evidence that we are filled with the Holy Spirit!

c) Passion for His work. The filling of the Holy Spirit must accompany us with Works. For what is faith without work, or work without faith. We will have passion for His Word, we will have power to carry out His Great Commission, we will have Authority to fill the various Offices ordained in the Church, we will have Boldness to declare the risen Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
