Waves

This is an improved version of "Waves".

There is so much we can do
If we want somebody to grow
Sometimes it's best to let them go
But be ready to offer a shoulder or a hand
Pray that your silence they will understand
When your words or letters don't make any sense
Line them up in the sand and let the waves wash over them

When the waves come crashing in
I cave in
Without a soul in sight
Silence fills the sea

There is so much we could say
Sometimes it's best not to stand in their way
In anger or in sadness
Emotions burn like an untamed flame
I have nothing left to say and nothing else to do
So I sit here in the water and pray that God will see you through
As I write these words in my heart and toss them to the sea
I align myself in the sand and let the waves wash over me

I cave in

I am left all alone
Silence fills the sea
Washes over me
When the next wave crashes in
